First full day, meals 3-5

We’re unpacked and I focused on food. I made a batch of yogurt and an apple pie and worked in the veggie garden.

Breakfast was pancakes with apricot jam (I may have purchased too much and will be using a lot of it), maple syrup and fresh orange juice with coffee and tea.

Lunch was tuna salad on fresh, albeit too moist, soy-linseed bread, with lettuce and potato chips.

We pregamed dinner with rice crackers, cheddar cheese and homebrew beer at a gathering on the jetty.

Dinner included pork chops, marinated in orange juice, mustard and soy sauce, salad and green beans and carrots. Followed by apple pie and tea. A three course meal!

I had a casualty in the garden when I brushed stinging nettles. My finger is still tingling and numb.

The yogurt set well and the pie was delicious.
