181-183, The perfect gnocchi

I made good use of the snack box. We each had a piece of chocolate candy. We’re going one for one with the candy. None of this, “I’m bigger than you so I get more.” Even Steven. I made cheddar cheese scones, which were delicious. My last batch of yogurt was a flop: better for baking than eating. Then with those gorgeous potatoes, I made a batch of gnocchi from a recipe I found online. I made them before with a recipe from Lydia’s Kitchen, but didn’t look that hard because internet was sketchy.

4 potatoes, 2 cups flour, 1 egg, 1/4 cup parmesan, salt and pepper.
What could be simpler. It took my a few tries to get the shape and I’m not sure I got it but they were yummy and there was enough left over for another meal,
which I froze.
Then another apple plate cake, which reminds me of the pineapple upside down cakes from the 1960’s or so. I am fortified.

181) yogurt soup, drunk from a glass, toast and coffee; 182) pizza and pea soup for me, chicken cutlet parmesan and coleslaw for Tim; 183) gnocchi with tomato sauce, mixed salad and apple plate cake.

  1. gnocchi look great, i’m impressed and i’m sure Lydia would be too. do you serve them straight up or with sauce???

    • Thanks, they were and were also very photogenic. I like them with sage and butter but, alas, I used up all the sage last week so we had them with tomato sauce and cheese. No complaints.
