154-156, time get creative with canned apples

While our vegetable garden is abundant, we are out of fresh fruit except for a few oranges. My first canned apple pie wasn’t a success, but we managed to eat it and share it with a couple of kayakers. My second dessert was an apple buckle, which was pretty good. Today I will make a Plate cake, which sounds like an upside down cake with juices running down the side of the cake. Sounds yummy.

154) yogurt, canned peaches and english muffin; 155) leftover angel hair pasta with peas, cream and mint; 156) curried shake and bake chicken, steamed carrots and peas, cauliflower au gratin and steamed silverbeet with couscous. Dessert: apple plate cake and chamomile tea.
